360-degree views boost engagement by up to 40% and give buyers the confidence to purchase online. Here is everything you need to know to create showroom-quality 360 spins.
Any modern smartphone with 12MP+ camera works great. DSLR or mirrorless cameras produce even better results.
A vehicle turntable automates the rotation, but walking around the vehicle works perfectly for most dealers.
Overcast days or indoor showrooms with even lighting produce the smoothest 360 spins. Avoid harsh shadows.
Keeps your camera at a consistent height and distance for every shot. A monopod works in a pinch.
Walk around the vehicle taking 24-36 photos at equal intervals (every 10-15 degrees).
Park on a flat, clean surface with a simple background. Remove distracting items from the area. The cleaner the background, the more premium the result.
Begin at the front center of the vehicle (the grille). This becomes frame 0 at 0 degrees. Mark your starting position so you can track your progress.
Walk clockwise around the vehicle, taking a photo every 10-15 degrees. For 24 frames, that means a photo every 15 degrees. For 36 frames, every 10 degrees.
Keep your camera at the same height (roughly door handle level) and the same distance from the vehicle throughout the entire rotation. This is the key to a smooth spin.
Go to the vehicle's edit page, select '360 Photos', choose 'Exterior', and upload all frames at once. Our system handles the rest.
Sit in the driver seat and rotate the camera 360 degrees, taking 12-24 photos.
Position yourself in the driver seat with the camera at headrest height. This gives the best perspective for the interior panorama.
Begin facing forward through the windshield. This is your 0 degree reference point for the interior view.
Slowly rotate, taking 12-24 photos at equal intervals. Capture the dashboard, passenger side, rear seats, driver side, and back to the windshield.

Shoot during golden hour (early morning or late afternoon) or on overcast days. Even lighting means no harsh reflections on paint or glass.
Thoroughly wash and detail the vehicle before the shoot. Water spots, dust, and fingerprints are magnified in high-resolution 360 views.
Clear the area around the vehicle. Other cars, trash cans, people walking by -- they all appear in the 360 spin and break the premium feel.
Always shoot a few extra frames. It is better to have 28 frames and pick the best 24 than to come up short and have a jumpy spin.
Before uploading, review all photos on a monitor at full size. Check for blur, inconsistent framing, or missed angles.
Lock your camera exposure and white balance before shooting. Auto mode can shift between frames, causing flicker in the 360 viewer.
Head to your inventory and select a vehicle to start uploading 360 photos.
